Lake Mountain Alpine Resort Summer Activities

School holidays are just round the corner...Lake Mountain Alpine Resort in Marysville in the Yarra Valley could be the winning solution.

It is an exhausting time of the year for parents. It's hard having small people around all the time, asking, "What shall I do , I am bored?" It could also get really expensive.

Lake Mountain Alpine Resort is famous for their Winter activities, including Cross-Country Skiing and Tobogganing. But now, they have many Summer activities also.

Up at Lake Mountain Alpine Resort there be plenty to do in Jan. (And if it's a sunny day, it is a good concept to head up the mountain as it is often cooler up there than in the town or the valley.) The employees at Lake Mountain know that youngsters desire new places to explore and elders need their children to be occupied. Hence on the week-ends in January, there'll be onstage music and face painting, frisbee golf and all of the walking/biking trails for you to enjoy (and you can bring your own mountain bike) "all free of charge. Bring your own picnic and get a stunning spot to set up, surrounded naturally with staggering perspectives. And after lunch, the best bit "everyone can go off and do their own activities "while the grown-ups get some shut eye!

In the week, Lake Mountain are building up a fun packed School Vacation program this summer too , full of arranged activities to keep all ages amused. Every week there'll be a new activity "a rock climbing wall, sumo wrestling suits, mini golf or a mega slide. The organised activities are included in the cost of a day pass, which also buys you the flying fox, dune carts and laser skirmish. To get a 15% discount, book online from their website. If you are staying in the area, many Marysville accommodation providers are providing 25% discount on the day pass ticket cost.

And being on a mountain, there are limitless tracks to explore on foot and by bike. It is also free to have a round of frisbee golf as you're walking the tracks. (Just mind the other walkers as you are "teeing off") The walks have great interactive signs so you can find out more about Lake Mountain's unique climate and environment. There's one particular walk I like, called The Green Again walk, which is a 5km loop from the Town. It illuminates the assorted kinds of regeneration occurring since the 2009 fires and explains how some species need a fire to regenerate.
