The Sunshine State: Orlando And Florida Hotels

Unfortunately, Florida has, over the years, struggled to cast off its retirement community image. From the carefully choreographed entertainment on offer at Disneyland to the untamed beauty of the Everglades, the ‘Sunshine State’ boasts a wealth of tourist attractions. Choose from the vast array of gorgeous Florida hotels on offer to explore from.

With pristine natural parks and set amongst wonderfully verdant landscape, Orlando, or the ‘City Beautiful’, is well worth a visit. Additionally, Orlando boasts more than 300 lakes and rivers, wildlife dwelling preserves and parks and many open public places. But Orlando also does culture, with a number of world-renowned museums and galleries. Enjoy the stained-glass works of Louis Comfort Tiffany at Charles Hosmer Morse Museum or see ancient American art from pre-historic times to the present day at the Orlando Museum of Art.  And a stay in one of the many family-friendly Orlando hotels can only serve to enhance your experience.

Nor will holidaymakers who want to head off the beaten track be disappointed in Florida. Florida benefits from one of America's most unusual and different National Parks - the Everglades. Located at the southern tip of the state, the park is made up of approximately 1.5 million acres of swamps, as well as being the place many endangered animals call home. Take a ranger-led tour of the park to get up close and personal with the park’s most famous residents, its alligators. See if you can spot an alligator or even the highly threatened Florida panther, of which there are only 80-100 surviving in the wild. Most Florida hotels will be happy to provide you with details of the most convenient way of visiting the park. Just don't forget the insect spray!

Do something a little different and go fishing in the Florida Keys. Providing some of the best fishing possible, the Floridian waters are home to fish such as marlin, sailfish and tuna. Serious fishers needs to head to Islamorada, considered the capital of sport-fishing in the world.

However, one of its most famous attractions is the Kennedy Space Center. It was here that space shuttles are developed, tested and blasted into orbit as part of the US Space Program. The Visitor Complex on Merritt Island offers the chance to see mission capsules, lunar modules and a replica Space Shuttle flight deck firsthand.
